Blair Kinghorn surprised but excited by first Scotland start v Ireland

Kinghorn, 21, will make his first Test start after a debut as a replacement in the 25-13 victory over England.

Mar.08 - SportLand: Edinburgh full-back Blair Kinghorn says it came as a "big surprise" to be named in the Scotland team for Saturday's Six Nations match against Ireland.

Kinghorn, 21, will make his first Test start after a debut as a replacement in the 25-13 victory over England. "We were just at the team meeting and [head coach] Gregor [Townsend] pulled me aside and told me," Kinghorn said.

"It was a big surprise but a chance I am really excited for. I quickly let my parents know, but I've not looked at my phone just yet."

He replaces the injured Tommy Seymour on the right wing in the only change to the side that won the Calcutta Cup.
